Who We Are
Malls Houston is an independent shopping guide run by a small team of Houston residents who actually shop the malls we write about. We started this site in 2015 because we couldn’t find a single resource that combined accurate store directories, real opening hours, parking tips, and honest opinions about what each Houston mall is genuinely good for.
We are not affiliated with Brookfield Properties, Simon Property Group, Tanger, or any other mall operator. We don’t accept paid placements in store directories, and we don’t write “sponsored” reviews of malls. When we recommend Memorial City over The Galleria for families, or Houston Premium Outlets over Tanger for luxury hunting, that’s our honest take based on visits, not a brand partnership.
Our Editorial Team
Our editorial team lives in Houston — across the Energy Corridor, Memorial, the Inner Loop and Pearland — which means we cover the malls in our daily orbit. Between us we visit every major mall in this guide several times a year, and we keep store-directory tables updated by walking the centers ourselves rather than relying on outdated mall websites.
We are not retail analysts or commercial real estate professionals. We are shoppers. The strength of this site is firsthand familiarity — knowing which entrance at The Galleria has the shortest valet line on a Saturday, or which Houston Premium Outlets stores are worth the drive in March vs. November.
What We Cover
We maintain dedicated pages for every major shopping destination in the Houston metro area, including The Galleria, Memorial City Mall, Baybrook Mall, Houston Premium Outlets, The Woodlands Mall, Willowbrook Mall, Katy Mills, Deerbrook Mall, Tanger Outlets Texas City, CITYCENTRE, River Oaks District, Highland Village, First Colony Mall, Rice Village and PlazAmericas. Each page covers store directory, hours, parking, dining, and our planning tips.
Beyond the mall pages, we publish themed shopping guides — luxury shopping, outlet shopping, tax-free shopping for international visitors, Black Friday planning — and news posts about openings, closures and major redevelopments (Greenspoint’s closure, Memorial City’s expansion, Katz’s arrival).

How We Keep Information Accurate
Houston’s retail landscape moves fast. Stores open, brands relocate, anchors leave, and entire malls (Greenspoint, 2024) close. Our process for keeping the site current:
- Quarterly walkthroughs of each major mall to verify the store directory.
- Monthly hours check against the official mall websites and Google Business Profiles.
- News monitoring for Houston-specific retail announcements (Houston Chronicle, Fox 26 Houston, Community Impact).
- Reader corrections — if you spot a closed store still in our directory or an outdated hour, email us and we’ll verify and update.
Each mall page shows when we last updated it. If you’re planning a trip and the page hasn’t been touched in over six months, treat the directory as a baseline rather than gospel and double-check anything time-sensitive on the mall’s own site.
Our Independence
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or financially connected to any mall operator, retailer or shopping center management company mentioned on this site. The site is supported by display advertising and occasional affiliate links to retailer websites — these never influence which malls we recommend or how we describe them.
